People with Oily Skin Need Moisturizers, Too

[Valid RSS feed]  Category Rss Feed - http://www.articleresources.net/rss.php?rss=76

A really smart forty-something woman offered some good advice for people in their twenties - you need to moisturize. Don't laugh. Even if you have perpetually oily skin at age twenty, moisturizing should be a part of your daily ritual. If you don't, you'll see what most women see when they reach forty - wrinkles that are the result of years without sufficient moisture.

If you find yourself in the same dry, wrinkly boat - don't despair. Research has proven that it is never really too late to start moisturizing. You will see improvement to your skin. How soon you start, and the products you choose, will determine just how much improvement your skin will receive.

People with oily skin need a light moisturizer. Using any kind of heavy cream will probably make your face break out. Keep it light, and choose a moisturizer with at least a small amount of sun protection in it. These are much easier to find on the market these days since we know all that we do about skin cancer and its relation to the harmful sun rays. Moisturizers with SPF (sun protection factor) are so common that they are not expensive at all.

Contrary to popular belief, young people with super oily skin can grow to be older people with oily skin and wrinkles. If you are one of those people, consider extra treatment for the wrinkle areas in addition to the light moisturizer you plan to start using. If your wrinkles are concentrated under your eyes, buy an eye cream to target that problem. If your problem tends to be fine lines on your forehead or around your mouth, look for products that target those areas.

No matter what moisturizers and target creams you use, cleansing is probably the most important part of getting your face looking its best. If you are using regular soap and are not happy with the results, change to a cleanser made especially for faces. Arbonne's orange gelee is a great cleanser with a light, fresh citrus scent. It is not marketed specifically for oily skin, but people with oily skin should see good results from it. The company also offers a full line of skin renewal products in its RE-9 line. Other popular companies such Avon, Mary Kay, Estee Lauder offer cleanser and age defying treatment lines as well.

To find cleansers, moisturizers and target treatments right for your oily skin, the best way to select your favorite is to try out several. Don't let the trial and error process get you discouraged. If one product leaves your face stinging after several uses (and if the maufacturer's instructions say that is not normal), move on to another. It could be that you are allergic to an ingredient. Give your face a break for a few days, then, try another one. If you have a number of allergies, the process may take some time, but hang in there. You will find skin care that works for you.
